Perceiving
Functions

The perceiving functions, sensing and intuition, deal with processing information.

They guide us to observe and learn about internal and external phenomena.

Extroverted Sensing

Focused on the five senses. Those with Se tend to take in as much information about their environment as they can. They're naturally inclined to be observant and notice details upon their surroundings.

Focused on the present, they prefer to live in the moment rather than worrying about future occurrences, which characterizes them as adaptable.

Extroverted Intuition

Recognition of patterns. Those with Ne pick up on connections between things, people, and events. They're interested upon cultivating their creativity, so it's inevitable that they constantly come up with new  ideas. Despite a scattered attempt to organize the variety of their thoughts, they're able to communicate their innovative insights while inspiring a wave of imagination to their peers.

Introverted Sensing

The connection between the past and the present. By relying on input from the 5 senses, Si users create a framework of ideas about how the world appears and functions. Because of that, they develop a patterned way of acting and responding . Si focuses on organization, routine, and memory retention.

Introverted Intuition

Understanding how the world works through internal intuitive analysis. Ni relies on gut feelings and intuition, forming an internal map and framework of how things work. Those with Ni take pieces of abstract information by recognizing patterns and make sense of the meaning it holds. This doesn't apply with concrete facts; unlike Si, Ni is concerned with the essence of theoretical ideas.
